Finally! I can tell somebody… We now have six voice actors confirmed for the pilot episode, who will play the six series regular characters who appear in the pilot (Georgiana, Hiromi, Rob, Tim, Josh, and Anya — in order of apperance): Rob will be played by William Roberts . Hiromi will be played by Karrie Shirou . Georgiana will be played by our daughter Ariel after all (we reviewed auditions from a few adult actresses to be sure this is what we wanted to do — they were good, but a real child’s voice sounds much better, and Ariel did quite well on the audition). Tim will be played by Lex Quarterman . Josh will be played by Paul Birchard . and
Just a quick note: I have got some more artwork up on the Download page: We are also currently taking auditions for Voice Actors and applications for Artist Interns (Mostly Blender 3D art skills, but also some 2D and audio).
Posters I got the concept art posters back from the printers today, and they look really nice. As I mentioned earlier, I printed enough for all backers, because they really didn’t cost much after the first 10 or so which were already spoken for. So, if you’ve received a survey notice, be sure to fill in your address so I can send you the poster. For those of you who selected “no reward”, I sent out a regular email — I’d still like to send you a poster. Just email me (i.e. at “digitante at gmail dot com”) an address to which you’d like me to send it.
Hello everybody! Today, I started work on following through with the posters (the “Concept Art” posters). I’ve queried our two logo sponsors and received a logo from one of them. I also checked the cost of the poster printing. I’ve also had a chance to run over the final numbers and make sure that the overheads have all been accounted for. It turns out that when all the costs and overheads are calculated, we have about $1836, which is very nice: that will cover not only the $1600 for Daniel, but $100 incentive for Rosalyn on the script writing work, and still leave a bit for contingencies.
Here’s an alternate design for the Concept Art Poster, which looks more like a “group photo”. Layout by Rosalyn Hunter. Tell us which you like better. I’ve also indicated where the crease-line will fall on folded posters (although, so far we haven’t got any requests for those yet).
Now that all of the inked and painted character portraits are finished, I am putting together the Concept Art Poster. This is missing only a few elements. The circles at the bottom show the locations for the “Logo Sponsorship” placement. I’ve moved the “Lunatics” logo up to the top. This is very close to the poster you will receive if you’ve requested it ($8, $15, $25 levels — see the descriptions for details). Character Drawings are by Daniel Fu. Digital ink & paint and poster layout are by Terry Hancock.
If the $15/$25 poster reward seems too high, you might be interested in this: we can send you the same poster for just $8 if we fold it for shipping. After the first few are printed, additional copies of the Concept Art Poster don’t cost much to print, and so the main expense is the cost of shipping a mailing tube. This is especially true for international addresses. However, if I just fold the 11″ x 17″ sheet in half to 8.5″ x 11″ , it will ship in a standard-size document envelope, and this is really inexpensive for both USA and International addresses.
